Kopi Tim

Posted on October 3, 2011October 3, 2011 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on Kopi Tim

16th September 2011, it’s Malaysia Day. My two friends were very patriotic ;p they took a day off and went for lunch at a Malaysian restaurant in Rundle Mall.

Then at night, I joined them and they went to another Malaysian restaurant, Kopi Tim, located at 168 Gouger Street. *LOL* The food here isn’t very cheap -.-” chicken rice costs more than AUD10. Of course I won’t go for any food which are available at my workplace, every week see the same food also scare hahaha…

These were what we had:

Left: The interior.
Right: Grass jelly and herbal tea. Forgot the prices. By the way, I heard they don’t serve FOC water like any other places. You must order the bottled water.

Left: Rice.
Right: Salted Fish Bean Sprout (AUD13.90), stir fried bean sprout with salted fish in tasty sauce. GOSH! Can you believe eating such expensive bean sprout dish?!?! Even in Chinatown, I could get a packet for less than AUD1. Taste? Salted fish and bean sprout as it should taste *LOL*

Left: Sambal Okra (AUD13.90), okra in thick chili sauce. I really can’t help it, the most expensive okra/ladyfinger dish I had in my life! ;p The sambal was quite sweet but it was good.
Roght: The famous Kadazan Chicken (AUD16.90) of Kopitim. It’s deep fried chicken marinated with the chef’s special spices. YUM! I love this! Don’t remember how many pieces of chicken there. If I recall correctly, there should be 6 pieces.

Left: Sambal Squid (AUD16.90), the sambal was the same as the okra’s. I like this too even though it’s quite sweet.
Right: Curry Prawn, no idea how much because it’s not in the menu. Not bad too.

I don’t remember the exact total price but each of us paid about AUD18+ for 7 of us.

Overall, I won’t recommend the vegetable dishes because it’s too expensive. Even the À la carte dishes too. Not worth it. The prices here are quite steep and portion wasn’t big. Meat and seafood dish are okay I guess…

I don’t think I’ll come back unless I have too much money to spare.

We have the curry fish head there once. It’s ok. The second time we wne tthere, the taukeh neu and taukeh son weren’t very friendly and surprisingly slammin the table when we requested one. We never been there since.

Blogging since 2002. Anything before 2006 is no longer available. It is no longer on this server. Back then, I built my own blog and updated it using HTML. No database or anything. Only started blogging fully with a CMS in 2006. However, whatever was on the Internet will stay on the Internet. So... It should be still somewhere on the Internet. Then again... Why do you want to dig that far?
