Photo Hunt: Plastic

May 23rd, 2009 · 9 Comments

This is one thing you will see in Chinese wedding. During the olden days, they would be using the kerosene lamps. Nowadays, there are many modern designs available and most of them are made from plastic and lighted up with electricity or using batteries.

The lamps are placed in the room of the newly-wed. It symbolizes the couple will have son(s) when they have kids. The lamp will only be turned on during the wedding day.

Location: My friend’s room.
Comments: Cropped the main section, resized, adjusted the curves a bit.

Interesting custom. The lamps are lovely and your photo of them is great! I always have difficulty shooting lit objects. Nice!

    Mine’s up, too!
